Session description

Increasingly, consumers are holding travel companies more accountable as they seek to spend with brands whose values mirror their own. It’s no longer enough for travel brands to simply make bold claims about purpose and sustainability. They need to prove it through action. Victoria Houle, Director of Development at the Planeterra Foundation related to the tour operator G Adventures, gives insights into how to become a transparent and trusted tourism brand and create a win-win situation for local communities, travellers, travel agents and tour operators.

Victoria is a passionate leader within the strategic philanthropy sector and loves building partnerships between businesses and nonprofits to create the greatest impact. With a BSc in Psychology from the University of Toronto, over 15 years experience in the nonprofit world as a fundraiser and programme manager and an avid traveller since her early years, she has dedicated her career to changing people’s lives and finds inspiration in the people and places she visits around the world. Victoria overseas the revenue development for the Planeterra Foundation related to G Adventures, ensuring the growth and development of the organization. In her down time, she can be found walking her dog Charlotte at the beach, spending time with her family and planning her next adventures.
